From time to time some very special and complex cases come into our care at AAR. Often these cases just cannot be rehomed in the usual way - therefore we place them into permanent foster homes. This means that AAR continues to support them in their foster home for the rest of their life. Its a massive and wonderful commitment from these foster families. Some of our permanent foster cases have brain tumors, terminal illnesses or cancer. AAR pays their vet bills and medications, special food and special equipment for the life of the dog or cat. We also provide support and advice and help to the fosterers. The guiding principle is that the animal has a good quality of life, no matter how short that may be. Permanent foster enables them to thrive in a loving home environment and the fosterers are 110% supported by AAR. Some of these cases have cost us thousands, but to see them living life to the full, or living out their last years in the comfort of a home, is worth every cent.
